The code isn’t working to log me in. I’ve been using the Auth app forever and now it’s not working?!? Here is some troubleshooting info Brooke. I enter to google authenticator code for the same xero email but it doesn’t let recongnise the code.

Xero authenticator not working

 

This article is for small businesses who use Xero. Change your current backup method , go to your account settings. If you don’t have a smartphone or tablet, you can install an authenticator app on a laptop or desktop computer. Ask our community of customers, accountants and bookkeepers.

Skip to main content Search icon Search Xero Central. Install an authenticator app. To reset MFA, first you have to turn it off. Log in to Xero using a web browser. Click your initials or profile image, then select Account. Under Additional Security , click the menu icon next to Multi-factor authentication. Click Turn off multi-factor authentication. Enter the code from your authenticator app, then click Disable. Your MFA has now been turned off. Next to Multi-factor authentication, click Set up.

Click Set up multi-factor authentication. Choose an authenticator app. To use push notifications, select Xero Verify. Follow the steps in Xero to add your Xero account to the app. Add a backup email address, then click Continue. Your answers can only contain letters or numbers, and not any symbols or special characters. They also need to be five or more characters. Your MFA is now reset. What’s next? You’re all set to keep authenticating when you log in to Xero.

This article is for small businesses who use Xero. If you’ve forgotten your password, or are locked out after entering your password too many times, you can reset your password from the login page. If you don’t have access to the email account associated with your login, you won’t be able to reset your password. If this has happened, take a look at our page on what to do if you can’t access your login email account. If you’re having problems with multi-factor authentication MFA , have a look at our troubleshooting page.

Sometimes your web browser saves your login details. If you’ve recently changed your login email address or password, you may need to clear any stored data.

When clearing your cookies and cache , you can delete this data if you select ‘Passwords’, however it’ll remove all passwords saved in your browser. If you’d like to delete only your old Xero or WorkflowMax login, you can remove it in your browser settings:.

If you log in using a bookmark but are getting an error message, you’ll need to delete the bookmark and create a new one. We recommend only bookmarking login. You can bookmark other pages you use regularly, but it’s best to only log in from this page. If your workplace blocks these Xero domains, ask your system administrator or technical support person to change your company’s firewall or proxy settings:. Select Xero or WorkflowMax, then click Remove. Safari Go to Preferences , then click Passwords. Highlight the line showing Xero or WorkflowMax, then click Remove.
