After doing the latest update, I started getting a black screen when loading my DJ Hero 2 disc. I did all the steps of clearing the cache, removing the hard drive, and even holding down the power button for 10 seconds as suggested by a Microsoft employee on Twitter.

This last step actually got the game going, but it won’t get past the title screen where it shows the game makers, it just freezes up. Hey there My Pet Sq!

Today, I deleted all of my DJ HERO 2 content minus download packs , cleared the cache of my hard drive, and reset the by holding down the power button for 10 seconds.

I found though if I kept trying to play it would read to the title screen and pop up that I need an update for the game. I download the update and then immediately it tells me The Disc Is Unreadable after download. On a final note, I have found that now the DJ Hero 2 icon will appear, but if I try to play the game it still freezes on a black screen until I turn off the I wish it was as simple as a scratched disc but this thing is in brand new condition with zero markings on the disc, so I can’t imagine that is the problem, especially since it reads on other consoles.

Hey Pet Sq Since you have tried the disk on a different console, it looks like we can rule out that the disc is causing the issue. A few other steps I would recommend trying would be clearing the cache 3 times followed by turning your console off for 30 seconds.

I know you have already tried clearing your cache, but sometimes it helps to try multiple times. Make sure that all third party accessories are disconnected when trying the suggested steps. I was a fan of the first DJ Hero. This second installment in the hopefully continuing DJ Hero series is an improvement over it’s predecessor. My only complaint about this game is it doesn’t pack as much of a punch as the original mix-list. Not to say this game doesn’t have some very good mixes, because it certainly does, but it seemed to stray more toward the pop genre rather than keeping it hip hop.

It’s not a big let down, but still I find myself bobbing my head to the beat alot less in this game than I did in the original. Then there’s the new features such as the ability to use 2 turntables, a mic, and the added freestyle sections that let you add your own little flavor to certain mixes that make this one stand apart from the original.

If you enjoyed the first game, you most likely will enjoy this one as well. The added features give something new and the tracklist can change the experience. My granddaughter plays this game all the time.

There needs to be way more hip hop tracks mixed with JUST hip hop music. There needs to be much more music period! Not just getting people to buy DLC. And then the DLC isn’t all that. DJ Hero 3 needs to allow you to upload your own music library from your hard drive. That would own! Sorry to rant I just think this game series can be so much more. One person found this helpful.
